Counts are read from live filing data, not fixed copy. Congressional coverage grows as members file: it lists everyone with a STOCK Act disclosure already on record, not all 535 seats.

An example, not a live filing.
Subject: Nancy Pelosi disclosed a trade in AAPL
AAPL Purchase
Nancy Pelosi D · House
$1,000,001 – $5,000,000 · traded 18 Jul 2026 · disclosed 37 days after the trade
You follow Nancy Pelosi
Every alert states how long the disclosure took. Congressional trades are reported 30 to 45 days after the fact by law, and a tracker that hides that gap is setting its readers up to be surprised by it later.

Why this is free
SEC Form 4 filings and STOCK Act disclosures are public records. Tracefour reads them from the same free government endpoints anyone can use, so an alert costs almost nothing to send. Charging for a notification about a public document is a pricing decision, not a cost.
Tracefour is a data visualiser. It is not an investment adviser, and an alert is a record of a filing rather than a recommendation.
Questions
- Are Congress stock trade alerts free on Tracefour?
- Yes. Tracefour sends free email alerts when a member of Congress files a STOCK Act periodic transaction report. There is no paid tier, no trial period, and no credit card is required. Alerting is funded by the same free public data the rest of the site shows.
- How do I get an email when an insider buys or sells a stock?
- Create a free Tracefour account, search for the company or the individual insider, and turn on alerts for it. Tracefour emails you when a matching SEC Form 4 purchase or sale is filed, usually within an hour of the filing appearing on EDGAR.
- Can I get an alert for one specific politician, such as Nancy Pelosi?
- Yes. Alerts on Tracefour are set per person, not per feed. You can follow a single member of Congress and receive email only about that person, and you can follow several members at once without receiving anything about the rest.
- How quickly do Congress trade alerts arrive?
- Tracefour emails within about an hour of a disclosure being published. The larger delay is in the law itself: the STOCK Act allows members of Congress up to 30 to 45 days to disclose a trade, so every congressional alert describes a trade that already happened. Each alert states that gap explicitly.
- What is the difference between an insider alert and a Congress alert?
- An insider alert comes from an SEC Form 4, which a company officer, director, or ten percent owner must file within two business days of trading their own company stock. A Congress alert comes from a STOCK Act periodic transaction report, filed by a member of Congress within 30 to 45 days. Tracefour delivers both in one email stream.
- How many emails will Tracefour send?
- You choose between an email as each filing arrives or one combined email per day, and you can mute any individual company or person while keeping the rest. Tracefour sends nothing when there is no new filing, so a quiet week produces no email at all.
- Does Tracefour give trading advice in its alerts?
- No. A Tracefour alert reports what was filed: the person, the company, the transaction type as coded by the SEC, the amount, the date, and a link to the original filing. Tracefour is a data visualiser and is not an investment adviser.
