Press & citations

Tracefour is a free public visualizer for insider-trading disclosures. Everything on the site comes from official regulatory filings, refreshes hourly, and links back to the original document. Journalists and researchers are welcome to use the data and charts with attribution.

How to cite

  • In text: "per Tracefour data" or "according to Tracefour (tracefour.com)".
  • Link the specific page the number came from (for example /insider-trading/NVDA or /trackers/pelosi), not the homepage.
  • The regulator's own filing is the authoritative record; every row on Tracefour links to it. For legal certainty, cite the filing itself.
  • Charts and screenshots may be republished with a visible "tracefour.com" credit.

Methodology, in brief

Filings are fetched hourly from the primary sources below. Directional views (maps, digests, statistics) count only genuine open-market purchases and sales; awards, option exercises, gifts, and other mechanical transactions are excluded, and duplicate or mirrored filings of the same economic lot are collapsed. Historical prices and values are split-adjusted. Per-page methodology notes state what each view can and cannot show.
